Inspire change through cooperation

Since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris climate agreement last year, the energy transition is recognised as a global goal by the international community.

To make change happen now, we need a new solidarity between States, regions, cities, rural and urban areas, but also between people. More than ever it is time to work together for the common good and to strengthen leadership at the sub-national level.

From 1-3 June, decision-makers will explore - through the lens of local action - what it means to further open up democratic processes for a new energy governance, have stronger local decision-making powers and divest from fossil fuels.
